The YAB-NWFL, is a sub-committee of Opening Doors Northwest Florida.

"Young people are the voices of their own truth."

The Youth Action Board exists because youth and young adults who've experienced homelessness are leading the effort to end homelessness for all young people. We create innovative solutions by providing a safe space for youth and young adults with lived experience of homelessness to come together to strategize, share stories, learn, and put solutions into actions.

Youth Leaders on the YAB educate, advocate, and form relationships to create change in the homeless youth system.

The YAB is mentored by Opening Doors Northwest Florida to understand the logistics of an organization and reach service providers in the area.

Who can join the YAB ?

Applicants must meet the following criteria :

Be ages 18-24
Be a residents of Santa Rosa or Escambia County
Have a interest in making Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties a better place by providing advice, planning, and oversight to the CoC Lead on events, programs, and policies that affect homeless young people
